This 19th century Bible (undated, circa 1860) has Notable Provenance as it originates from the Royal Family. It's from the private collection of Angela Lascelles (née Dowding) and thence by descent. Angela was a wife of The Hon. Gerald Lascelles (First Cousin of Queen Elizabeth II), younger son of Henry Lascelles, 6th Earl of Harewood, and Mary, Princess Royal, the only daughter of King George V and Queen Mary.
This folio Bible measures 39 cm x 30 cm x 13 cm (15.35 in x 11.81 in x 5.12 in) and weighs 10.5 kg (23.14 lbs).
The Bible's family register includes records dating back to 1821. Inscription on the front end paper says "Rachel Dowding “Plas Gwyn” West Dulwich". Rachel was Angela's grandmother.
I have proof of origin (from my purchase at Angela Lascelles' private collection sale), which I can provide upon request.
